You should check these on a regular basis to make sure that your images continue to work with the different social media images sites. Because social media image networks change their image sizes, banner ad sizes and picture sizes often, it’s up to you to make sure that your images are displaying properly on a regular basis.

Sprout Social is a great site to watch to make sure you’re up to date with the latest sizes to use on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Google+, YouTube and Tumblr. Not only does this site list information about all of these social media outlets, it also gives advice for how images should be set up on your personal profile as well as your business profile. How things are displayed on your personal timeline will differ from how things are displayed within a user’s newsfeed.
This site is set up clearly, is easy to read as well as navigate through. It is also visually appealing and makes great use of white space in order to help separate different sections and draw your eye to different things. The bulleted lists make for a clean look and easy to read website.
Spredfast is another great site to find these image guidelines for social media outlets. It has information about Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn, YouTube, Tumblr and Snapchat. Instead of the information being organized into paragraphs, Spredfast has its information into graphics with pixel information listed to the side.
This is also easy to follow, though it is a bit more scattered in its look. The information runs together a bit because there isn’t much space in between the guidelines for each platform. The images themselves on this site are also a bit blurry.
One thing that it does have which is easier to see is the information in regards to embedded videos on a social media platform. On Sprout Social, this is harder to pick out and notice immediately, but on Spredfast it is easier to see.
Make a Website Hub has a great cheat sheet for social media image sizes on their website. This is organized similarly to Spredfast, but is easier to read because it makes good use of white space and separates things out better. It also shows the layout of the page and where things should be located.
It has information for Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, Google+, Tumblr and Ello. One thing that is confusing is that the social media outlets are offset just with their logos. This could confuse someone that doesn’t have experience with some of these. It would be better to have the names listed more clearly along with the logos.
Hootsuite is set up very closely to Sprout Social and is in paragraph format. It also looks very similar with pretty much the same colors used. It has information about image sizing for Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Tumblr and Google+.
This site is clear and easy to navigate through depending on which social media outlet you’re organizing. It has clear information and tips about how to best size and organize your images. The images this site uses are adequate, but don’t really add much to the information. It is a clear guide that will outline all of the specifics for you.
The four websites above are great resources for staying up-to-date the current image sizes of social media networks. This sizing is important for those who visit your business or personal pages on the different sites. Your images and ads displaying correctly are vital to your pages and business. These images will help increase the number of people who engage with you and your business as a whole. It’s important that your images be the best they can be in order to contribute to your success.
